Certified Master Builder

The Certified Master Builder Program establishes credible, measurable criteria with goals of improving professionalism, business management practices, product quality, and record of customer service to the public.

The program promotes a resource to assist customers in identifying qualified home builders who perform at a higher degree of excellence.

Mueller Homes is proud to announce that we are one of a limited number of home builders in our industry that have achieved this honored designation.

Accordingly we are committed to abide by and exceed the provisions as set forth in the following CONSUMER BILL OF RIGHTS

CONSUMER BILL OF RIGHTS

The Consumer deserves a timely response to all written requests for warranty work.
The Certified Master Builder/Remodeler shall repond to all written complaints and request for warranty work within 14 calendar days of receipt.

The Consumer deserves timely and appropriate repairs to be made to all items covered under the appropriate warranties.
All warrantied items found to be defective as defined by the warranty shall be corrected by the Certified Master Builder/Remodeler within 30 days of receipt of a written request for warranty service, or as soon as weather, availability of materials, and resonable accomodation to scheduling with the customer allows.

The Consumer deserves to have clearly defined standards of workmanship for which they can rely on the Certified Master Builder/Remodeler to adhere to.
The Certified Master Builder/Remodeler shall use the following standards and warranties in determining defective material and workmanship:

  • NAHB Performance Guidelines for Professional Builders & Remodelers (1996 copyright) amended.
  • The third party insured warranty (if applicable)
  • The approved alternative warranty of the CMB/R (if applicable)

The Consumer deserves a fair, prompt, and affordable mechanism for resolving disputes with a Certified Master Builder/Remodeler.

  • The Certified Master Builder/Remodeler will include mandatory binding arbitration language in contracts with all customers unless the customer waives in writing such language. The Certified Master Builder/Remodeler may choose to limit mandatory binding arbitration to those dispoutes involving dollar amount equal to or less than the contract amount with the Consumer.
  • The CMB/R will abide by the final decision of any arbitration in a timely manner.

The Consumer deserves assurance that their contract deposits are protected.
The CMB/R shall protect customer deposits in the following manner:

  • If the Certified Master Builder is building on their own land, the deposits shall be 100% bonded or deposited in a qualified escrow account, all in accordance with Maryland State Law.
  • If the Certified Master Builder is building on the customer's lot, all deposits shall behandled in strict accordance with the Maryland Custom Homebuilder Act.
  • Certifed Master Remodelers shall handle all deposits in strict accordance with the Maryland Home Improvement Act.
