Creating Personal Experiences

During my 20+ years at Mueller Homes, my personal experience and our company’s capabilities have greatly evolved.  We continue to adapt and respond to our clients by offering an unprecedented level of customization and personalization to tailor every aspect of their dream home. New technologies allow us to provide innovation and an immersive experience.

We are adept at collaborating with our clients and  architects to ensure client wishes are transformed into reality. The end result is a home and an experience that becomes an authentic extension of the homeowner’s identity, creating a sense of pride and connection like never before.

We feel blessed to be able to help create such a personal experience for each client.  When the project is complete and the keys are handed over, well, that’s my favorite personal experience!

Why Our History Matters

Since 1992, Mueller Homes has been handcrafting distinctive custom homes and luxury estates throughout Maryland.  Founder, Paul Mueller, Sr. maintained the concept that building and industry experience, business acumen, and long-standing supplier and sub-contractor relationships would stand the test of time.  And, indeed, they have.

In today’s dramatically changing environment, this experience allows us to withstand market fluctuations, rely on trusted resources, and maintain proper cash flow.  We believe these are important considerations when you choose your custom home builder, because we find that they make a huge difference in your overall construction experience.

We also stay abreast of innovative technology that helps improve efficiencies and lower costs.  Our ability to adapt to these evolving processes is another key benefit.

In today’s global supply environment, we focus on high quality materials and availability of resources. This too, makes the entire construction process anticipatory versus reactionary.

As a family-owned business, working side by side for many years, Paul Mueller, Sr. was able to mentor and teach Paul Mueller, Jr. all of the important lessons learned along the way. By instilling the same strong core values, work ethic, and client-centered vision, the tradition of excellence and client focus will continue for generations to come!

5 Important Considerations When Selecting a Builder

5 Important Considerations When Selecting a Builder

We believe that as you contemplate the luxury custom home building process, the selection of your builder will be one of your most important decisions.  As a matter of fact, it should be given the same careful consideration as any other long term relationship.  Once your choice is made, it’s going to take good communication, hard work, and flexibility to create and maintain that relationship.

In our experience, there are 5 important considerations when selecting a builder.  We discuss each of these considerations in greater detail in our book and even provide checklists you can use to select the builder that is right for you.  Be sure to consider:

  1. Builder’s Business Model & Business Acumen
  2. Builder’s Processes & Approach
  3. The 3 R’s:  References, Reviews & Resources
  4. Apples to Apples Comparisons
  5. Builder’s Experience with Similar Homes

It’s also important to note that the B-Myth is a common challenge in our industry.  We discuss this concept further in our book, but the reality is that some builders have the technical skills but are inexperienced when it comes to running a successful business.  Unfortunately, over the past 30 years, we have seen far too many builders with the B-Myth go out of business – sometimes with the bank or client’s money.

Whether you select Mueller Homes as your builder of choice, or another builder, we want to help you avoid these kinds of horror stories.  Feel free to download our book and checklists which can provide valuable insight, resources, and checklists to help you make informed decisions.
