MBIA Custom Building Council Award of Excellence 2012

November 2012 – The Maryland Building Industry Association (MBIA) announced Mueller Homes as the winner of the 2012 MBIA Custom Building Council Award.  The Award of Excellence for Outstanding Home and the honors excellence in construction and celebrates the accomplishments of its members.

The winning project for the MBIA Custom Building Council Award was a unique European-styled country home is beautifully situated on 100 acres and takes full advantage of the surrounding property. The client’s enthusiasm for all things equestrian are incorporated throughout the design of this property, which overlooks white fencing and horse grazing areas, and features hardwood floors constructed from 100-year-old board fencing. The magnificent outdoor haven extends to include an infinity pool, pool house, bluestone patio, and hot tub that open up to extraordinary views. The property was constructed in the original location of a 1950s classic rancher, which Mueller Homes relocated and restored as a working tenant house. The interior includes six fireplaces, a gourmet kitchen with a Lacanche stove, and carpentry crafted by hand by Mueller Homes in-house master carpenters, including wainscot molding, cherry paneling, barrel vaulted ceilings and exposed beams.
