Modern Farmhouse in Clarksville, MD

This Clarksville custom home was designed for a growing family with a working farm and pasture for their horses.  Every detail was reflective of the client’s lifestyle and living, including the rustic-inspired man-cave.

Assembling The Team

Mueller Homes worked collaboratively with Jonathan Rivera Architecture and this young family to create a beautiful country modern farmhouse on the horse farm they had always dreamed of.  The project design concepts incorporate the perfect blend of form and function with beautiful design.

The Client’s Vision

The picturesque parcel of land serves as a modern working farm and the family wanted to construct a rustic modern farmhouse that could withstand mud, children, and animals alike. At the same time, the family wanted to dedicate areas for respite.  All their goals were met while providing a delightful building experience and long-term relationship.

“Our home was a true collaborative effort.  Mueller’s entire team including the construction crew, the client concierge, and Project Manager worked collaboratively to build a home where we can truly enjoy our farm, while raising our family.  We love the way they utilized reclaimed wood throughout the home and man-cave to make the original architectural designs come to life.  It is exactly what we imagined!”

Features

Mueller Homes worked closely with the homeowner to design custom cabinetry, flooring that incorporated rustic wood elements, reclaimed barn wood, and exposed wood beams to bring the entire architectural design concept together.  The accessories and fixtures throughout the home were selected with the assistance of our Client Concierge and give a nod to the horse-centered lifestyle these homeowners desired.

Custom millwork and built-ins in the mudroom, laundry room, and beyond practicality for muddy boots and other paraphernalia you’d expect from a working farm.  Durable and timeless finishes complement the home’s function.

Modern Farmhouse Design

The two-story great room provides views of the landscape, farm, and scenery that wait just outside.  Exposed reclaimed wood beams, a stone fireplace, and rustic fixtures were incorporated into the design which nods to an old western style ranch.

Rustic Man Cave

Discreetly tucked away in the detached garage, the man cave is far from modern and all about rustic.  It serves as close ‘get-away’ for poker nights for the guys or a mommy’s night out/in for the ladies.  Reclaimed wood was used throughout the cabin-style rustic design that is actually part of the detached garage.
